Meet the Visionary Cyclist Dnyaneshwar Yewatkar
Dnyaneshwar Yewatkar is a social activist and cyclist from Wardha, Maharashtra, India, born near Gandhi’s Sevagram Ashram. Inspired by Gandhi’s principles of non-violence and human connection, he holds a Bachelor’s in History.
In 2016, at age 26, he began the Vishwa Maitri Yatra—a bicycle journey to spread peace and Gandhi’s teachings worldwide. By 2018, he had cycled over 52,000 km across 15+ countries in Asia and the Americas, visiting schools and the United Nations.
The 2020 pandemic halted his travels, leading him to settle in Costa Rica, where he founded the Ramdas Group—a collection of sustainable businesses including India Curry House, Asha Hostel, Pacifico Aviations, and Khadi (eco-friendly products).
His work emphasizes mindful living, cultural exchange, and giving back.
“True progress lies not in what we accumulate, but in what we give back to the world and its people.”
